The Luna Azul Journal is an academic and refereed journal that publishes original articles related to environmental or ecological issues, which can come from any knowledge discipline or area as long as they deal from some perspective with the environmental topic understood I n its widest meaning.
The journal will publish editorials, scientific and technological research articles, reflections derived from research and revisions which general characteristics be:
“Editorial. Document written by the editor, a member of the editorial committee or a guest researcher about orientations in the thematic domain of the journal.
Scientific and technological research article. Document which presents in a detailed way the original results of finished research projects.
Reflection Article. Document which presents finished research projects results from the author’s analytic, interpretative or critical perspective about a specific topic resorting to original sources.
Revision Article. Document resulting from a finished research project in which the results of published or unpublished research projects are analyzed, systematized and integrated on a science or technology field in order to account for the advances and development trends. It is characterized by presenting a careful bibliographical review of at least 50 references.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DOCUMENTS
Documents must be submitted in Word format with graphics, tables, photographs and other elements included in the text located exactly where they are requested to be published in the final version. If the document size exceeds 10 Mb, it must be sent in zip format. The different annexes in the article must comply with the following characteristics:
Title: Must be clear and concise
Authors: The names and last names of all authors and for each one of them, using automatic note at the end of the text, all academic titles, institutional affiliation and contact e-mail address must be clarified.
Abstract: Structured 300 words piece of writing which must include the objective, method, most important result, and most relevant conclusion. It must be submitted both in Spanish and English.
Key Words: Between three and five key words accepted by the international data bases must be included. They must be submitted in Spanish and English.
Introduction: Includes the research justification and objectives as well as a summary of the theoretical framework.
Materials and methods: Describe the type of study and its design as well as the population, the sampling technique, and the sample selection process. The instruments and procedures used for data gathering and analysis must be explained.
Results: must be presented in an orderly, clear and concise manner.
Discussion: must be presented in an independent manner or in the same chapter for results; it includes the analysis of the relationship between obtained results and those results generated bu other authors; it points out the coincidences and differences found and emphasizes the new aspects; and it examines the implications of the findings, their limitations and their projections in future research.
Conclusions and recommendations: space to present the most relevant findings of the research from the study objective viewpoint; they can be written based on the proposed research objectives,
Bibliographic references and notes: References are done based on the APA norms which can be consulted in: http//www.capitalemocioal.com/apa.htm. Notes must be included at the end of the text in a consecutive manner and they will e used for clarification, comments, discussions or suggestions by the author, never to include bibliographical sources.
Acknowledgements: Space for the authors to present their acknowledgements to collaborators or financing institutions that supported somehow the development of the research.
Potential conflict of interests: declaration of the authors about the possible existence of interests conflicts in the carrying out of the research.
Financing sources: Financing sources used to carry out the research.
Annexes: Only if they are necessary.
For revision articles, numerals 6 to 9 do not apply.

. It is important that the reference specifies “Article Remittance” and that the e-mail address provided be available for receiving the necessary answers and messages.
The message must mention the type of article that is being submitted: scientific and technological research, reflection derived from research, o r review.
The article remittance must be accompanied by each authors’ CV resumes (see format) and a cession of rights letter signed by all the authors (see format).
CONTRIBUTIONS EVALUATION:
The article will be evaluated initially by the Editorial Committee who will determine whether its topic applied to the journal and whether it complies with the minimum requirements for its evaluation by academic peers: originality, completeness, relevance; the result of this evaluation will be informed to the author sending the article via e-mail.
After the first approval, the article will be sent to two evaluator peers of the same or higher educational level the author or authors have; this second evaluation will include the following criteria: conceptual and methodological rigour, sufficiency in the management of the literature about the topic, relevance of the topic and contribution to the knowledge area, organization and articulation of the sections, quality and clarity in writing, correspondence between the title and the abstract with the article content, and classification of the article according to the evaluator’s perception. Similarly, this evaluation will be informed to the article author via e-mail with the purpose of him performing the necessary adjustments requested by the evaluators.
When receiving the article with the corrections, the Journal Director will verify the fulfillment of the evaluators’ suggestions and will analyze the justification for the corrections not carried out.
Once this phase has been completed the article will be sent to an editor and, again, will be sent to the author so that he/she can make the requested changes.
Finally, the adjusted and designed document will be sent to the author for his/her revision and approval before proceeding to the publication.

The Luna Azul journal reserves all rights for impression, total or partial reproduction of the material as well as the right to accept it or reject it, and the right to make any editorial modification they consider necessary.
The articles in this journal can be totally or partially reproduced citing the source and the author; they do not necessarily reflect the journal way of thinking and are published under the authors’ responsibility.
